ASC Student Supercomputer Challenge 2025 to be Hosted by Qinghai University

The ASC Student Supercomputer Challenge 2025 (ASC25) is thrilled to announce that Qinghai University will host the ASC25 finals. The competition will follow its renowned three-stage format:

  • Registration Phase: Colleges and universities are invited to form teams and register by submitting applications via the official competition website by January 5, 2025. Each institution may field multiple teams, with each team comprising one advisor and five undergraduate students.
  • Preliminary Stage: Running from January 6 to February 21, 2025, teams will submit proposals addressing tasks set by the organizing committee. Proposals will undergo evaluation by the judging committee, and exceptional teams will earn a place in the finals.
  • Finals: The finals, scheduled for May 10–14, 2025, will feature intense competition as teams contend for top honors, including the Champion, Silver Prize, Group Competition Award, e Prize, and the Highest LINPACK Award.

The ASC Student Supercomputer Challenge is recognized as the world’s premier student supercomputing competition, supported by leading experts and institutions from Asia, Europe, and the Americas. With a mission rooted in fostering the exchange and development of young supercomputing talent across borders, ASC aims to enhance the applications and research capabilities of supercomputing, drive technological advancements, and inspire innovation in both technical and industrial domains. Since its establishment in 2012, the ASC Challenge has grown steadily, drawing participation from over 10,000 undergraduate students worldwide.

The Qinghai University Supercomputing team has established itself as a "rising star" in the ASC competitions, earning the First Prize on multiple occasions in the world. By hosting ASC25, Qinghai University will offer a vibrant platform for young supercomputing enthusiasts from around the world to connect, collaborate, and share ideas. This initiative underscores the university's dedication to cultivating talent and fostering scientific innovation in the high-performance computing domain.
