The Fiber Broadband Association (FBA) today announced the call for submissions for the Fiber Connect 2025 Proof of Concept (PoC) showcase. Early Bird Registration is now open for Fiber Connect 2025, which will be held June 1-4, 2025, in Nashville, Tenn. This year FBA will again partner with the Broadband Forum (BBF) to host the POC showcase that features the latest technological advancements and collaborations across the fiber broadband industry. This year, each PoC must address the Connected Home and the broadband subscriber experience, leveraging one of three BBF specifications for fiber access interoperability, ONT/Home Gateway manageability, and/or Wi-Fi performance.

“Fiber Connect 2025 will celebrate the progress the fiber broadband industry has made in lighting up connectivity across North America. As more homes are connected to fiber broadband, it is critical to ensure interoperability across network equipment, services, and applications. Our PoC program will not only demonstrate how these devices and applications can integrate seamlessly, but it will also expand the boundaries of what’s possible,” said Evann Freeman, Fiber Broadband Association Board Member and Conference Committee Chair, and Vice President of Government & Community Relations at EPB of Chattanooga.

“Interoperability is crucial to ensuring the high-quality connectivity that fiber delivers remains ubiquitous throughout the home and subscriber experience,” said Ken Pyle, Director of Marketing, at the Broadband Forum. “We’re eager to curate the 2025 PoC program at Fiber Connect and discover the new innovative collaborations among our members that will further advance our industry and connectivity across North America.”

Fiber Connect 2025 PoC projects can involve up to three companies, and at least one PoC participant must be a member of either FBA or BBF. Submissions must incorporate one of three BBF specifications: BBF.247 (OLT/ONT Interoperability), TR-369 (User Services Platform), and/or BBF.398 (Wi-Fi Performance). To submit a PoC, please download the complete PoC Showcase instructions and the PoC Submission Form & Agreement here. All PoC submissions are due February 15, 2025.

PoC submissions will be reviewed by the Fiber Broadband Association’s Technical and Conference Committees and Broadband Forum prior to approval for inclusion in the Fiber Connect 2025 PoC Showcase. PoCs will be evaluated during the Fiber Connect 2025 event by leading industry analysts, and awards will be presented in the following categories: Most Innovative, Biggest Impact, and Game Changer.

Take advantage of Early Bird Registration to secure your spot at Fiber Connect 2025 and save on attendance costs. For the latest event updates, subscribe to FBA’s Fiber Forward Weekly newsletter here.
