Presented annually, the Co-op Employer of the Year award recognizes organizations that provide outstanding mentorship, skill development opportunities, and a supportive work environment for Carleton co-op students.

The nomination, submitted by Master of Computer Science (Data Science) student and Kinaxis co-op Machine Learning Developer, Oz Kilic, praised Kinaxis for its innovative culture, supportive environment, and commitment to mentorship recognizing Sébastien Ouellet, for his guidance.

“During my co-op at Kinaxis, I had the freedom to explore ‘crazy ideas’ while developing real-world solutions. Their supportive environment and outstanding mentorship made me feel both challenged and motivated, enabling me to transform an ambitious concept into a high-impact project,” said Oz Kilic, a Master of Computer Science student at Carleton University. “Kinaxis truly bridges academic research and industry practice, creating a space where cutting-edge technologies meet meaningful business challenges. It’s easily one of the best co-op experiences for any Computer Science student interested in machine learning and data science.”

Kinaxis has been an active participant in Carleton’s Co-operative Education program, offering students the chance to work on real-world supply chain challenges using advanced technologies such as AI and machine learning. The company’s dedication to hands-on learning ensures students gain both technical expertise and valuable professional experience.
